What is Bitcoin Logical?
About the publication

Bitcoin Logical is an independent, Bitcoin-only news, education and analysis publication. We reason from first principles — showing our work, citing on-chain data, and being candid about uncertainty — as a deliberate antidote to crypto hype. We cover Bitcoin and only what is genuinely adjacent to it: Lightning, custody, mining economics and the regulation of Bitcoin itself. Not altcoins, not memecoins, not NFTs.

Why Bitcoin only, and not all crypto?
About the publication

Focus. Depth on the one asset that matters beats shallow coverage of a thousand tokens, and most "crypto news" is really promotion for whatever is being sold that week. We do not chase altcoins, memecoins, NFTs or "the next 100x". That discipline is the brand, and it is also why we can afford to be slow, specific and boring when the evidence is thin.

Who writes for Bitcoin Logical?
About the publication

Writers who consent to a public profile are named, with a real biography, their areas of expertise and a holdings disclosure. Everything else publishes under the Bitcoin Logical editorial desk, which is an honest collective byline rather than an invented person. We do not create fictional authors, and there is no "admin" byline on this site.

Is Bitcoin Logical a Bitcoin maximalist site?
About the publication

We are Bitcoin-focused by choice, but the brand is rationality, not tribalism. We reason from evidence, and that includes evidence about Bitcoin's own open problems: fee-market sustainability after the subsidy shrinks, mining centralisation, custody risk, and the gap between what on-chain data shows and what people claim it shows. A publication that cannot criticise its subject is not analysis.

How does Bitcoin Logical make money?
About the publication

Advertising and clearly disclosed affiliate links, kept off safety content entirely. We never take payment for favourable coverage, never accept paid placements dressed as editorial, and never carry gambling or casino affiliates. Where a page contains an affiliate link, a disclosure appears above the article body as well as at our affiliate disclosure page.

What is The First-Principles Take?
How we work

It is our signature structured analysis: Claim, then Evidence drawn from on-chain data and primary sources, then Reasoning, then an explicit statement of what the evidence does not prove. Every Take is tagged "reasoned, not hyped" and written by a person, never generated. It is context and reasoning, not a trade signal. The full structure is published at our methodology page.

Where does the Bitcoin data come from?
How we work

Price is proxied from a major spot venue, with a second source as fallback. Fees, mempool state, hashrate, difficulty and block height come from public Bitcoin network data via mempool.space. The halving countdown is computed from block height and the fixed 210,000-block schedule. Supply, active addresses and transaction counts come from public chain statistics. Every metric on the board names its source.

What is the mempool, and why do fees change?
Bitcoin basics

The mempool is the queue of transactions that have been broadcast but not yet included in a block. Block space is finite, so when more transactions want in than fit, users bid for priority in satoshis per virtual byte (sat/vB). When the queue is long, the price of prompt confirmation rises; when it drains, fees fall. Our fee estimator and the Signal board show current conditions.

What is self-custody, and why does it matter?
Bitcoin basics

Self-custody means holding your own private keys rather than trusting a third party to hold coins on your behalf. It removes counterparty risk and replaces it with personal responsibility: lose the keys and the coins are gone. We cover how to do it carefully — seed-phrase hygiene, hardware wallets, backup strategy — and the scams that target newcomers. Never share your seed phrase with anyone, including anyone claiming to be us.

How can I report an error?
Using the site

Use the contact page and tell us what is wrong and, ideally, what the correct figure or fact is. Substantive corrections are logged publicly at our corrections page with the date and what changed; we do not quietly edit a published claim and pretend it was always right.

How can I contact the desk or pitch an analysis?
Using the site

Use the contact page for tips, corrections and general enquiries. Guest contributions and open roles are described at our careers page. Guest analysis is published under a clearly labelled Guest Contributors byline with a disclosure of any relevant position or relationship.

Is anything on Bitcoin Logical financial advice?
About the publication

No. Everything here is informational and educational only — not financial, investment or tax advice. Bitcoin is volatile and you can lose money. Our analysis reasons from evidence; it never tells you to buy or sell, and it never promises an outcome. Do your own research, and speak to a licensed professional about your own situation.

Do you make Bitcoin price predictions?
About the publication

Rarely, and only as reasoned scenarios with their assumptions stated in the open — never as targets to trade on. A scenario says "if these conditions hold, this follows"; a prediction pretends to know which conditions will hold. Anyone promising you a guaranteed Bitcoin price is selling hype, not analysis, and usually selling something else besides.

Is the content AI-generated?
About the publication

Partly, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Some drafts are AI-assisted. Every piece is then edited, sourced and fact-checked by a person before it is published, and the judgement in a First-Principles Take — what is claimed, what the evidence supports, and what it does not prove — is always human. We use software for what software is good at: pulling live chain data, computing a halving countdown, checking arithmetic. What we will not do is publish unreviewed machine output, or let a model decide what a piece concludes.

Is Bitcoin Logical an exchange, wallet or fund?
About the publication

No. It is a news, education and analysis publication. We do not custody funds, run a wallet, operate an exchange, or manage anyone's money. We will never ask you for a seed phrase, a private key, or account access — and anyone who does, claiming to be us, is attempting to steal from you.

When was Bitcoin Logical founded?
About the publication

The bitcoinlogical.com domain was registered in 2021, but the site you are reading was built and relaunched in 2026 under new editorial standards. We state it that way deliberately: claiming years of continuous operation we cannot evidence would be exactly the kind of unverified claim this publication exists to avoid.

What is The Bitcoin Signal?
How we work

The Bitcoin Signal is our live, Bitcoin-only data board: price, fees and mempool state, hashrate and difficulty, the next-halving countdown, market dominance, and key on-chain metrics such as issued supply, active addresses and daily transactions. Every metric carries a short note on what it can and cannot tell you, plus its source and the time it was last refreshed.

Does Bitcoin Logical cover on-chain metrics?
How we work

Yes — it is a core focus and the main reason the site exists. We explain active addresses, supply distribution, fees and mempool dynamics, hashrate and issuance in plain language, including the ways each is routinely misread. Addresses are not users; a busy mempool is not distress; hashrate is not demand. Our On-Chain Metrics section covers this in depth.

What is the halving?
Bitcoin basics

Roughly every four years — precisely, every 210,000 blocks — the reward paid to miners for each new block is cut in half. This is the mechanism that makes Bitcoin's issuance schedule fixed and decreasing, converging on a 21 million cap. Our halving countdown shows blocks remaining, computed from live chain height, and is explicit that the resulting date is an estimate.

Do I need an account to read Bitcoin Logical?
Using the site

No. Every article, The Bitcoin Signal, the glossary and all four tools are free and open without registration, a paywall, or an email gate. The newsletter is optional and free.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?
Using the site

Visit the newsletter page or use any signup form on the site. The Signal is free and weekly: the Bitcoin news that mattered, one reasoned take, and the on-chain number worth knowing. You can unsubscribe from any issue, and we do not sell or share subscriber addresses.

Nothing here is financial advice. Bitcoin is volatile and you can lose money. We will never ask you for a seed phrase or private key — anyone who does, claiming to be us, is trying to steal from you.
