Bitcoin Logical is a small desk. Most contributions arrive as individual pitches rather than through open roles, and the bar is about how you reason rather than about credentials.

What we are looking for

• Comfort with primary sources. Chain data, filings, published rules, repositories — not secondary commentary about them. If a claim can be checked against the chain, we expect it to have been.
• Willingness to state what your argument does not prove. This is the non-negotiable one. Every analysis piece carries that section, and we have declined otherwise-strong pitches from writers who would not include it.
• Precision about uncertainty. “Probably, because X” is publishable. “Certainly”, with the same evidence, is not.
• No conflicts you are unwilling to disclose. Holding Bitcoin is not a conflict and nearly everyone who writes about it does. Being paid by a company you are covering is, and it must be disclosed before you write, not after someone notices.
• Original work you can stand behind. Disclose any AI assistance used in a draft; the reasoning and the conclusion must be yours. See the editorial guidelines for how we describe our own use.

What we are not looking for

Volume writers who can turn around ten posts a week. SEO-shaped content built around a keyword rather than a question. Anyone whose portfolio is mostly price-prediction pieces — not as a character judgement, but because the habits that job requires are the opposite of the habits this one does. Altcoin coverage, since we do not publish it.

How to pitch

A few sentences via the contact page: the claim you want to examine, the evidence you would use, and what you think it would not establish. That last part tells us more than a full draft would. Please do not send finished articles unsolicited — if the framing is wrong, you have wasted a day.

Include a link to something you have written. It does not need to be about Bitcoin and it does not need to have been published anywhere.

Terms for contributors

Guest work is published under a clearly labelled Guest Contributors byline with a disclosure of any relevant position, employment or relationship. You keep the right to republish your own work elsewhere after it appears here, with attribution and a link.

Editing is real: a piece moves through edit and fact-check, and you will be asked to substantiate claims. Nothing is published under your name that you have not seen in final form. If we cannot verify a central claim and you cannot either, the piece does not run — that is not a reflection on you.

Rates are agreed per piece before commissioning. We do not ask anyone to write for exposure.

Named bylines and anonymity

You decide. Writers who want a public profile get one at the desk page with a real biography, their areas of focus and a holdings disclosure. Writers who prefer not to be named publish under the collective editorial-desk byline. Both are normal here, and choosing anonymity carries no penalty in what you can write.

What we will not do is invent a persona for you, generate a portrait, or attach a fabricated biography to your work. If you have seen that done elsewhere in this industry, that is exactly why we say so here.

Open roles

No formal salaried roles are open at present. Pitches from contributors are always open and are the main route in. When a role does open it will be listed on this page with its scope and terms.
