Privacy Policy

Unless you subscribe, Bitcoin Logical holds no personal data about you. No analytics, no cookies for ordinary readers, no third-party requests.

Short version: unless you subscribe to the newsletter, we hold no personal data about you at all. There is no analytics on this site, and for an ordinary reader there are no cookies. This page explains the whole picture.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and the fact and time of your subscription. Nothing else — no name, no location, no interests, no profile.

If you contact us: whatever you choose to put in the message.

Automatically, for everyone: standard web-server access logs — IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string. These exist for security, abuse mitigation and diagnosing faults, are not used to build a profile of you, and are rotated on a routine schedule.

What we do not collect

No analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, no Fathom. No advertising or behavioural tracking. No cross-site profile. No fingerprinting. No session recording or heatmaps. No social widgets, no comment platform, no embedded video, no font CDN. The live Bitcoin data is fetched by our server and rendered before the page reaches you, so your browser never contacts a third party and no third party can observe your visit.

Cookies

For an ordinary reader we set no cookies at all — you can verify this in your browser’s storage inspector. Your light/dark preference is stored in localStorage under bl-theme, which stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us; we cannot see it. Cookies appear only if you submit the newsletter form (a security token) or log in as an editor. Full detail at cookie policy.

Where the newsletter data lives

Currently, on our own server — not with a third-party email provider, because none is connected yet. When we do connect one in order to actually send the newsletter, this page will be updated to name that provider before any address is transferred to it. Subscription is double opt-in: you confirm before we send anything.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your email address. There is no advertising network, no data broker and no affiliate receiving reader data. The only parties with technical access to the server are the infrastructure providers that host it.

How long we keep things

Your email address is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, at which point it is removed. Server logs are rotated routinely and not retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — use the contact page. For most readers the honest answer to the first question is “nothing”, and for subscribers it is “one email address”. Unsubscribing is available from every issue and needs no request.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If our practices change — most likely by adding analytics or an email provider — this page changes first, with a date, naming what was added. We would prefer worse measurement over quietly becoming the thing this page currently gets to say we are not.

Bitcoin Logical is pre-launch; the operating entity responsible for this data will be named here at launch rather than stated inaccurately now.
